The Winter Carnival rolls on to Ipswich for the Cup. One of the early favourites Skyman has been scratched which makes things a little more interesting. Let’s try and find the winner.

Bit of a tricky map. Street Dancer, Tavion Prince and Our Intrigue may all fight it out for the lead. Can’t see it being a quick pace. Bartholomeu Dias, Swords Drawn and Young Blood are all likely to be midfield if they get their way. Smart Meteor and Ballistic Boy could be the ones running on.

Great barrier and will be able to settle wherever he wants. Was a nice enough win over 1800m two weeks ago. Big chance.

Had ok form in NZ, the distance will be absolutely no issue. May prefer the ground to be a bit softer than what it should be by the jump. Monitor the betting

Our Intrigue
Could land on speed or even lead and be hard to catch. Finishing 2nd to Yonkers over the same distance two starts back is pretty good form for this. Consistent but a bit of a non-winner. We’ll risk.

Street Dancer
Winning form is good form and he has to be respected in a race like this. Versatile enough to be on speed or sit midfield and grind home. Current price is more than fair.
