Another feature on the Ipswich card, the Eye Liner stakes has another big field with plenty of different form lines leading in. Let’s try and find the winner.
Speed Map
Could be red hot here. Emerald Kingdom and Holyfield will both be aiming to get forward. Roman Aureus, Palladas will be just ahead of Charleise and Desert Lord midfield. Vinco will be the one seeing them all and trying to round them up.
Key Runners
1:
Talk about a class drop from one week to the next. Didn’t quite run it out in the Stradbroke but was very good three back, beating home Apache Chase who then went on to win the Group 1 Kingsford. At the price, a terrific value EW bet.
3:
Brings some pretty good ratings to this race and has been running well at big odds. Good map and a good jockey. Would want a little longer around $8. Monitor the betting
5:
Respect the trainer but in a wide open race, the map makes it difficult to chime in, especially at $5. Unless the pattern suits on the day, we can adjust but happy to leave alone.
9:
Good win on the Heavy track two weeks ago. Gets a good barrier to settle where he wants and rev up at the right time. Maybe a wet tracker? Monitor betting but a great chance to win again.
15:
What a frustrating horse and near impossible to get a read on. SP Profile is very strong and it’s been rare to see anything above $6 for it which we are getting here. Barrier means he could be very wide, or have all the clear running late, but he always seems to find trouble. Can’t have him, but a key player and won’t shock to see him bolt in.
Betting Strategy
Think the 5,15,9 and 2 all look the best betting propositions. We’ll spec on two of them.
