Chipping Norton Stakes
Severe wet weather in Sydney has put a bit of a dampener on the Group 1 Chipping Norton Stakes but we should still see a good race here as we get closer to the Championships.
SPEED MAP
Nothing is certain here with how the heavy track could be playing. Mount Popa will be trying to lead. Think It Over will go for the on speed spot it thrives so well in. Top Ranked and Maximal may push forward. Hard to know where V.E gets to but may want to stick away from the fence for clear running in the straight. I think Colette may try to sit a little closer and Hungry Heart will be having the last crack at them.

Think It Over
Airborne. Race was set up perfectly for him in the Apollo but has clearly established himself as an A Grader. Did drift in the market late so there could be another big price available come jump time. Top chance on his way to the Queen Elizabeth.

Top Ranked
First run in Australia was a good 3rd behind Lost and Running in The Hunter last year. Seems a decent run even more so with how well the winner is going. Big test here first up and conditions could prove tricky but is a must watch for market support late.

Verry Elleegant
Was just there for a run around in the Apollo, rattling home in good sectionals to finish 7th at a very sharp 1400m. Gets to 1600m now and can’t see any scenario where she’s not heavily involved in the finish. Will keep Think It Over in her sights and looks a fine bet here.
9:
Colette
Conditions are probably going to suit Colette the most out of the key chances. Is 3/3 on heavy tracks and one who will attract a lot of market support all week. Ran home strongly in the Apollo to finish 2nd and only bad luck prevents a finish outside the top three here.
TIP
Probably a race in three here and there isn’t much value to be had in any at the top of the market. Getting above $3 however for Verry Elleegant seems fair and will be a good chance to turn the tables on Think It Over this time around.
