The Group 3 Bletchingly Stakes runs this Saturday at Caulfield and the field looks competitive as we get closer to the Spring. Let’s try and find the winner.
Could be red hot and plenty will be trying to get across. Streets of Avalon, Oxley Road, Sartorial Splendor, Aysar and Scallopini will all be forward. Mariamia could be caught wide if unlucky. Mileva & Felicia will find a spot behind them and William Thomas along with King of Sparta will be the ones coming from the back.
1:Streets of Avalon
Its best is good enough but hasn’t been at that level for some time. Place chance.
Has been well backed since markets opened. First run at the track for the Queenslander. Has the right jockey to win, but happy to risk.
Hard to see a form turnaround in this race.
We’ve been with him the last two starts and won’t jump off here. Damian Lane on a big tick. Maps to get another good run. Great value bet.
5: William Thomas
This isn’t any easier than the last two starts. Happy to leave alone.
6: Oxley Road
Started favourite over most of these last run. Was the wet track the problem? Have to forgive and good enough odds to bet.
7: King of Sparta
Another first-timer at Caulfield. The map a slight issue considering the price. Would prefer around $8, not $5.
Too good last start. Maybe doesn’t get the same favours. Happy to risk as the current favourite.
Fitter for this and maybe a chance if Craig Williams can dictate. Watch the betting but happy to risk.
Have to trust Jamie Kah will find the right spot in run from the wide barrier. Is a winning chance. Watch betting.
